SSD & NVMe Data Recovery
SSD or NVMe vanished from the system? Burnt controller, corrupted firmware, NAND chips: we read the memory directly, without making the loss worse.
SSD data recovery at Belgium Data Recovery is done in our Brussels laboratory. SSD not detected, stuck at 0 GB, failed controller or worn NAND: firmware (Service Area) repair, micro-soldering, controller swap or chip-off reading of the NAND chips with reconstruction. An SSD is more complex than a hard drive — the success rate depends heavily on the case, assessed by the free diagnosis. From €360 excl. VAT, payment only if successful (No Cure, No Pay); your device never leaves Belgium.
An SSD gives no warning: it vanishes overnight. We work on Samsung (870 EVO, 990 PRO), Crucial, Western Digital, Kingston, SanDisk, Corsair and Seagate — SATA and NVMe M.2 alike — including firmware reconstruction and direct reading of the NAND chips.

Do you recognise these signs?
- SSD not detected or invisible in disk manager
- PC or Mac no longer boots after an update
- Data inaccessible after encryption or firmware failure
- SSD stuck in read-only mode
- "Disk0 not initialized" or similar error on Windows/Mac
- Drastically reduced performance — SSD in preservation mode or advanced wear
What you should never do with a failed device
- Update or reflash the SSD firmware — an update or secure erase can make the data permanently inaccessible.
- Accept “initialize the disk” or format when Windows or macOS suggests it — it rewrites the tables and triggers erasure.
- Run recovery software that writes to the SSD — TRIM and garbage collection erase in the background; any write speeds up the loss.
- Plug it back in repeatedly or cut power over and over — each cycle stresses an already fragile controller.
- Run a secure erase or reset the encryption — the key is lost and the data becomes unreadable.
- Desolder the chips yourself — NAND reading and reconstruction require the equipment and knowledge of the controller.
What the laboratory actually does
Firmware & Service Area
Firmware and service area repair with PC-3000 SSD: exiting safe/factory mode, rebuilding the translator (Phison, Silicon Motion, Maxio controllers…) — for SSDs stuck at 0 GB or in read-only mode.
Micro-soldering & PCB
Electronics repair: power, short circuit, damaged M.2 or SATA connector, burnt components.
Controller swap
Transfer onto a compatible donor board when the original controller is dead, keeping the elements unique to the drive.
Chip-off reading & reconstruction
Desoldering the NAND chips and raw reading, then logical reconstruction: ECC, XOR, descrambling and interleaving, depending on the controller.
Monolithic SSDs & eMMC
Reading monolithic media and eMMC (compact SSDs, cards) via the chip's technological test points.
Thermal variations
Stabilization through controlled temperature variation (cryo / heat) to read an unstable chip or controller long enough for extraction.
The engineer behind every recovery
At Belgium Data Recovery, no middlemen, no call centre: your device is opened and handled personally by Takhir Saidov, the engineer who runs the lab. You deal directly with him, from diagnosis to return — no juniors, no script.

They recovered their data
"I panicked when I saw my external SSD would not connect a Sunday, and I needed to work on it asap (I had some very important work on it) so I called Belgium Data Recovery as I saw they were opened on Sunday. He immediate…"
"Impeccable service! I highly recommend them. My SSD crashed, and all the computer technicians I consulted previously told me the chances of data recovery were slim, yet Takhir Saidov managed to recover everything! In les…"
"Great job ! We had a family external hard disk failure and we had thought all of our photos were lost...Belgium Data Recovery was able to restore nearly 99.9 percent of what was on the disk ! Thanks so much !"
Frequently asked questions
My SSD is no longer detected or shows 0 GB — what should I do?
An SSD that disappears or shows 0 GB is almost always a controller or firmware problem (corrupted service area), not a loss of the data itself. Don't keep plugging it in repeatedly. We repair the firmware with PC-3000 SSD or, if needed, read the NAND chips directly. Free diagnosis.
Can data be recovered from an SSD after deletion or formatting (TRIM)?
This is one of the hardest cases: on an SSD, the TRIM command and garbage collection actually erase the blocks shortly after deletion. If TRIM hasn't acted yet or was disabled, recovery is still possible. Stop using the drive immediately and bring it in quickly — every minute counts. The free diagnosis confirms what is still readable.
Is recovering an NVMe M.2 SSD different?
The principle is the same as for a SATA SSD (firmware, controller, NAND chips), but the M.2 format and recent NVMe controllers add complexity: fragile connector, heat, proprietary controllers. We handle NVMe M.2 of all brands, including hardware-encrypted models.
Can an encrypted SSD (BitLocker) be recovered?
Often, yes. With the BitLocker password or recovery key, the data is extracted and then decrypted with your key. Even without the key in hand, some situations remain recoverable: a key kept in the controller in case of hardware encryption, a recovery key tied to your Microsoft account, or other avenues depending on the case. The free diagnosis assesses what is possible — the priority is first to recover the data (even encrypted); decryption comes after.
How much does SSD data recovery cost and how long does it take?
From €360 excl. VAT, depending on the type of failure (firmware, controller, chip-off). The diagnosis is free and payment is only made if successful (No Cure, No Pay), with no rush surcharge. Allow about 3 to 15 business days after the diagnosis. VAT extra.
