USB Stick & Flash Memory Recovery
Broken USB stick, unreadable SD card, torn connector? We recover your files down to the memory chip itself.
USB stick and memory card data recovery at Belgium Data Recovery is done in our Brussels laboratory. Torn connector, failed controller, cracked chip: we go right down to component level — connector re-soldering, monolithic reading, NAND chip-off and translator (FTL) reconstruction. From €270 excl. VAT, payment only if successful (No Cure, No Pay); your device never leaves Belgium.
Torn connector, cracked chip, unrecognized stick: with flash memory, we go right down to component level. We handle SanDisk, Kingston, Lexar, Samsung and PNY, plus the SD, microSD, CompactFlash and CFexpress cards from your cameras.
Brands & models we handle
- SanDisk Ultra
- SanDisk Extreme
- Kingston DataTraveler
- Lexar
- Samsung BAR
- PNY
- SD / microSD
- CompactFlash
- CFexpress
Do you recognise these signs?
- USB stick physically broken (connector torn off)
- USB stick not recognized or "unknown USB device"
- Data accidentally deleted
- Corrupted SD card or camera no longer reading files
- Accidental formatting of the stick or card
- USB stick recognized but files unreadable or with corrupted names
What you should never do with a failed device
- Do not reinsert a stick with a broken connector — a forced contact can short the controller and worsen the failure.
- Do not install recovery software that writes to the stick: it can permanently overwrite your files.
- Do not reformat the SD card when the camera or PC suggests it — you would destroy the references to your files.
- Stop saving anything (photos, videos) on a card from which files have been deleted.
- Do not try to re-solder the connector yourself without a proper station: you risk tearing off the pads or damaging the NAND.
- Don't believe the freezer or tap-on-the-table tricks: on flash memory they have no effect and waste time.
What the laboratory actually does
Connector repair
When the USB connector is torn off or bent, we re-solder it under a microscope and rebuild the damaged tracks.
Monolithic reading
Recent sticks and cards are often monolithic: chip and controller are moulded into a single block. We locate the test points and read the NAND through dedicated adapters.
NAND chip-off
When the controller is dead, we desolder the memory chip and read a raw dump on the PC-3000 Flash programmer.
Translator (FTL) reconstruction
Raw NAND is not usable as-is. We rebuild the controller logic (XOR, block order, interleaving) to reassemble a coherent logical image.
ECC correction & assembly
We apply error correction (ECC) then recombine the planes and chips to obtain a faithful image of the data.
File system reconstruction
If the FAT/exFAT table is damaged, we rebuild the directory tree and, if needed, recover photos and videos by signature analysis (carving).

They recovered their data
"Extremely helpful and competent. Saved a physically defect SD Card. I recommend."
"I recommend it 100%!! The guy saved very important files on a formatted sd card in one day! he listened carefully to our problem and solved the problem immediately. Thanks a lot!"
"Mr. Saidov is truly the best in his field (data/file recovery) thanks to his extensive experience. His work is efficient, professional, thorough, and meticulous! He takes the time to explain the procedure and provides ex…"
Frequently asked questions
My USB stick is snapped in two or the connector is torn off — is it recoverable?
Yes, most of the time. If only the connector is affected, re-soldering is enough. If the controller is dead, we read the memory directly (chip-off + PC-3000 Flash). Free diagnosis. USB stick not recognized: causes & fixes →
I formatted my SD card by mistake — can I recover my photos?
Yes, if the format was done on a computer and you haven't written anything new. However, a format done directly in the camera itself often erases the card completely (especially recent cameras and cards) — recovery is then not guaranteed. Data recovery after formatting →
My stick is monolithic — is it more complicated?
Yes, it's more technical: the read points must be found and the translator rebuilt. It is recoverable in many cases, but the result depends on the state of the chip.
How much does it cost and how long does it take?
From €270 excl. VAT. The usual turnaround is 3 to 10 business days, sometimes longer for complex cases; the free diagnosis always precedes the quote. VAT extra.
My stick is encrypted (BitLocker To Go) — can it be recovered?
Yes, if you have the password or the recovery key. We recover the data first, then decryption is done with your key.
