Frequently asked questions about data recovery

01 What guarantees do you offer?

We offer three clear guarantees to fully secure your experience:

Financial guarantee (No Cure, No Pay): The diagnosis is 100% free. If your data is technically unrecoverable, you pay absolutely nothing. Our work is only charged if recovery is successful.

Verification guarantee: You don't pay blindly. Before any payment, you are invited to come to our Brussels laboratory in person and check your recovered files on-site. You confirm the presence of your important data yourself before finalising the process.

Security and confidentiality guarantee: Your hard drive never leaves Belgium. We are committed to absolute confidentiality of your information (NDA on request) and your data is permanently deleted from our secure servers 7 days after delivery.

02 How much does data recovery cost?

The diagnosis is always free and without obligation. The cost depends on the device and type of failure:

USB drive / SD card: from €270 excl. VAT
Hard drive (HDD): from €270 excl. VAT
SSD / NVMe: from €360 excl. VAT
Smartphone / Tablet: from €260 excl. VAT
NAS (per drive): from €490 excl. VAT
RAID (per drive): from €620 excl. VAT
Virtualisation: from €810 excl. VAT.

A firm price is provided after diagnosis. You pay nothing if recovery fails (No Cure, No Pay policy). Prices exclude VAT. Urgent cases cost no more.

03 Do urgent cases cost more?

No. Critical cases are handled as a priority, with no rush surcharge — unlike the industry norm. Typical turnaround is 1 to 2 weeks depending on complexity; urgent cases jump the queue at the same price.

04 What does the 'No Cure, No Pay' policy mean?

If recovery fails or you decline the quote after diagnosis, you pay absolutely nothing — neither for the diagnosis nor for the work carried out. Before any payment, we invite you to our laboratory to verify and validate the success of the operation yourself. This has been our transparency commitment since 2012.

05 Can I see my files before paying?

Yes — and this is what sets us apart. You can come to our Brussels laboratory and verify your recovered files yourself before any payment. If you can't come in person, we send you the list of recoverable files remotely. You only pay once reassured.

06 Do I need to bring my device to Brussels in person?

Call us first on 02 888 29 90 — we assess your situation together. Whenever possible, we recommend coming to the laboratory in person: Chaussée de Louvain 467, 1030 Brussels. The diagnosis is then carried out in your presence. If you can't travel, you can send your device via Bpost — we guide you through secure packaging.

07 Do you serve all of Belgium?

Yes. Although our laboratory is in Brussels, we handle devices sent from anywhere in Belgium. Postal shipping (Bpost, DHL, FedEx) is fast and secure. We provide packaging instructions to protect your device during transport.

08 How long does data recovery take?

The usual turnaround is 1 to 2 weeks, depending on the complexity of the failure and lab workload. For emergencies (server down, critical data loss), we handle your case as a priority, with no surcharge. We always provide a realistic estimate at diagnosis.

09 My hard drive is clicking — is that serious?

A clicking noise usually means a mechanical failure (read heads). Switch the device off immediately and don't try anything: each attempt makes the damage worse. Bring it to our ISO 5 cleanroom laboratory.

10 Can you recover data from a water-damaged device?

Yes, water damage is a common case. It is crucial to power off the device immediately, not to dry it with a hairdryer and not to charge it. Bring it or send it as soon as possible — the faster we intervene, the higher the chances of recovery.

11 Can I recover accidentally deleted data?

Yes, in many cases. Beware: on SSDs and recent hard drives (SMR technology with TRIM), freed blocks can be erased almost instantly after deletion. The absolute rule: immediately unplug or power off the device, install no recovery software yourself, and contact us as soon as possible.

12 Is my data confidential? How long do you keep it?

Confidentiality is our top priority. We never share your data with third parties. A non-disclosure agreement (NDA) can be signed on request, especially for professionals. After delivery, we keep your data for 7 days on our secure systems — time for you to verify your files and make your own backup. After that, everything is permanently deleted.

13 What types of storage devices do you handle?

Virtually all media: HDD hard drives (all brands), SSDs and NVMe, RAID arrays (0, 1, 5, 6, 10), Synology and QNAP NAS, virtualised environments (VMware, Hyper-V, Proxmox), USB sticks, SD and CompactFlash cards, smartphones (iPhone, Samsung, Android), MacBooks, iMacs and laptops. If in doubt, contact us.

14 Where is your laboratory physically located?

Our laboratory is in Brussels, at Chaussée de Louvain 467, 1030 Brussels. We are a genuine technical laboratory physically based in Brussels. You are welcome to come in person and hand your device directly to the engineer who will work on it: an immediate initial assessment, and maximum security for your data, with no intermediaries and no risky transport.

15 Will my data leave Belgium?

No. Your hard drive never leaves Belgium. Many addresses are only drop-off points that forward devices to labs abroad; with us, everything is processed on-site in Brussels. Less transport and fewer intermediaries means less risk, and your data is processed under the Belgian legal framework, in compliance with GDPR.
